“We worked with John on a renovation of our Victorian terrace.
The project grew over time and eventually touched every part of the house.
The process was paced entirely by us, involved loads of ideas, many, many discussions and iterative plans, and we thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration with John.

There are design features of his which have added enormously both to the aesthetic of the house and to its functionality. John designed an L shaped deck with built in seating and full width sliding panels onto the back garden (known as the sight screen!) which has dramatically improved the shading and weather protection, looks great, and where we now spend a great deal of time.

John’s great patience and commitment to the project is also evident in a stunning floor-to-ceiling pillar box red bookshelf in our study. It required a number of redesigns to take account of the party wall and other factors, and it’s a triumph.

His project management was firm and fair and the builders delivered a great result.

The house works now. It suits us perfectly as a family and plays up the great elements of Victorian character without the cloying Victoriana.”
